Urduja Elementary School is located in Urduja Village, Brgy. 172, Calocoan City, which spans 9.874 hectares and was formerly known as Zabarte Subdivision. The land was originally under the jurisdiction of PHHC and later managed by the Zabarte Housing Project.
To establish the school, representatives from the Division of City Schools, led by Dr. Modesta G. Boquiren (Superintendent of Schools), and the Urduja Village Association, headed by Atty. N.C. Mendoza, collaborated to address the community’s educational needs. Their efforts resulted in the construction of a Marose-type pre-fabricated building, which served as the first school structure in 1971.
The school officially opened on May 20, 1971, after securing approval from the district supervisor and local authorities. This milestone was achieved through the combined efforts of the community and leaders such as Dr. Boquiren and Atty. Mendoza, who worked tirelessly to provide quality education for the growing population of Urduja Village.
